Have always been interested in the weather.  As a teenager on, I would often be asked what the weather would really be, as opposed to the actual weather forecast.  I was able to do that by being a sky watcher, learning to read cloud and wind patterns added on to what the forecast was.  One and only tornado prediction came true one hour later.  Been around 8 or so tornadoes, most F-0-1.

I would watch the window at night when heavy snow was being predicted, looking at the streetlight for snow fall rate.  Usually back in the 50’s it was a disappointment, meant school tomorrow or no sledding.  Had 36 inches in 18 hours once though, same year as tornado and an earthquake, plus fathers suicide.
